The angry conversation between Real Madrid’s Cristiano
Ronaldo and Atletico Madrid’s Fernando Torres, during Wednesday’s Champions
League semi-final second leg, has been reportedly interpreted by Spanish
publication, Marca.
Atletico crashed out of the competition following a 4-2
aggregate defeat.
Although Diego Simeone’s men went into the second leg with a
three-goal deficit, they managed to score twice in the opening 16 minutes. But
their hopes of a comeback were ended, when Isco pulled one back before the
break, meaning Atletico had to score three more goals to win.
As a result the game began to get more physical and one
clash that caught the attention of the TV cameras, was the one that took place
between Torres and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Marca claims Torres asked the Real star: “What’s wrong?
Clown,” before Ronaldo then replied: “Go home, idiot,” suggesting the tie was
over for Atletico.
At this point the referee got between the two players and
that’s when the Portuguese smiled back at his rival.
Torres then apparently concluded the verbal exchange, which
took place just before half time, with the response: “Son of a b****”.
