AS the Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode celebrates two
years in office, Arewa youths resident
in the state have declared their support for the Lagos monarch, Oba Rilwan
Akiolu on his assertion that there is no vacancy in the Alausa State House in
2019.
Oba Akiolu, at a recent event in Lagos advised anybody
nursing governorship ambition in the state in 2019 to bury the thought
asserting that, “Ambode and his deputy, Oluranti Adebule, will govern Lagos
state for the next six years.”
The monarch premised his submission on what he described as,
“Ambode’s stellar performance in less than two years in office,” adding that,
“that is enough to merit a second term in office and fielding anyone against
the pair would be a money-wasting venture.”
Speaking in the same vein, the youth, under the umbrella of
the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), stated that, “the passion,
determination and dedication Ambode exhibits in carrying out his people
oriented programmes are testimonial that he is the man for the job in the next
six years.”
The youth, who spoke through their President, Mallam Yerima
Usman Shettima said, “if truly the people of Lagos State desire a mega city
where everybody will feel as real human being, we should all support this
workaholic and political dynamite of our time in his determination to take the
state to the next enviable level.”
Although Yerima admitted that there must be pains before
gains, he however pointed out that, “there is no area of human and physical
development that caused temporary pains that has not resulted in permanent joy
for the people,” citing Abule Egba and Ajah fly over bridges as well as other
projects across the state as example.
He urged the governor to carry the leadership of the Arewa
Community in Lagos along in his programmes saying, “we want to be more involved
so as to have a sense of belonging.
