Veteran striker, Aristide Bance will lead the Burkina Faso
Stallions squad that would trade tackles
with the Super Eagles in the much anticipated international friendly game in
London on March 27.
The Burkinabé Football Federation, yesterday announced a 25-man roster with the bulk
of the players, being those that
featured for the country at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations where the Stallions
won bronze.
Eight of the invited players are based in Africa, while 17
are European-based professionals, including Chelsea loanee, Bertrand Traoré and
the influential FC Krasnodar midfielder Charles Kabore.
Stallions coach,
Paulo Duarte from Portugal, who handed six players their national
debuts, also included in the list another impressive striker, Predjuce Nakoulma
and
young goalkeeper, Herve Koffi.
Patterson Kaboré (CD Eldense), Dylan Ouédraogo (Monaco),
Abdul Meyker Yabré (Vibonese), Stéphane Aziz Ki (Omonia Nicosia), Anthony Koura
(Nancy) and Abdoul Gafar Sirima (Baltika Kaliningrad) .
An analysis of the roster revealed that only two
players RCK goalkeeper, Sawadogo
Aboubacar and defender Coulibaly Yacouba ply their trade in the domestic
championship.
Burkina Faso had lined up two test games as they prepare for
the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania.
The Stallions will play a friendly against Morocco on March
24 before facing Nigeria four days later on March 27.
Meanwhile, Super
Eagles other opponent, Senegal, is
expected to release her squad for the London friendly against Eagles on Thursday March 16.
